The Ten Movements

Connection · Spacing · Timing
In the shadows of a forgotten future, two rival tribes converge, turning a high-stakes mission for a legendary light into a breathtaking display of synchronized grace.
I

Walk Like a Tri-a-angle

SPACING | CROUCHING | CONNECTION

It is super important that you move with your partners; the focus here is Connection. Practice getting back together (via connection).

Spacing is essential. Triangles look good from any angle; if we maintain positioning, we will not block the sightlines of the spectators.

II

Hold the Line

STEP TOGETHER | SPIN TOGETHER

Similar to Movement I, but now we have to hit our marks together.

The name of the game is still Connection.

III

Capture the Candle

CHAOTIC | IMPROV

Soot and Cinders playfully want to capture the Candle, but defense is just as important as offense.

IV

Line Dance

ENSEMBLE MOVEMENT | ATMOSPHERIC PERFORMANCE

Practice being boring. Practice being repetitive. But make it your own.

Here the focus is playful eye contact with the audience without stealing the focus.

V

Curtain Call

RUN TO THE LIGHT | FORM A LINE | HIT YOUR MARK

This move starts chaotic and ends perfectly formed.

It involves Connection with your partner, then immediately shifting your focus to the audience.

VI

Beltane

CIRCLE UP | MAINTAIN THE TENSION

This is where all the tension is formed; it’s the ultimate face-off.

Connection and Spacing reign supreme. This movement frames the object as a character in the piece.

Now we have connection with each other, the audience, and this mysterious object.

VII

Line Dance Solo

INDIVIDUAL MOVEMENT | 8 COUNTS

This is your time to shine!

This move need not stay static, but it needs to be perfected. Practice this at home and show us what you’ve got every week!

VIII

Curtain Reveal

1x1 PEEL | TIMING | GRACEFUL EXIT

An important scene where we mask and then perform a big reveal.

This move is asymmetric but has the illusion of symmetry. In order for it to work, we need to move as one.

IX

Staircase + Cinder Swipe Bonus

DUET | ACRO YOGA

Safety 1st! (and 3rd!) Don’t be intimidated—when done correctly, this move is not hard.

X

Chaos/Finale

SOLO | FAVORITE PROP

You had a small solo, but here is the big solo.

Did you practice? If not, we still ❤️ you: Space Case Cadet .

Just bust out some chaos or some flow-state movement and you’ll be totally fine. Just make sure you hit your exact mark before you space out!
